Morning Tonic
My morning tonic is created to start your morning off to a great, refreshed start. Apple cider vinegar and lemon juice are great at stimulating the digestive system. The acetic acid in apple cider vinegar has been associated with reduced insulin levels, helping to regulate blood sugar, supporting metabolism.
Both apple cider vinegar and lemon juice are considered to have alkalising properties which aid in detoxification in the body. Additionally, the high vitamin C content in lemon juice may further support detoxification.
Ingredients
½ cup of boiled water
½ cup cold water
1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar (with mother)
1 tablespoon fresh lemon Juice
1 teaspoon freshly grated ginger
½ teaspoon ceylon cinnamon
pinch of cayenne pepper
pinch of Himalayan Salt
Boil the kettle and fill mug with ½ cup boiling water and ½ cup cold water.
Add in lemon juice / grated ginger / apple cider vinegar / cinnamon / cayenne pepper / salt.
Give a stir and enjoy first thing in the morning.
Prep - Ice cubes
Make 4 batches of the ingredients with only 2 cups instead of 4 cups of water within a pyrex glass jug and leave to cool.
Pour into an ice cube tray and leave in the freezer to set.
Each morning, take out your ice cube, pour hot water over it, leave to dissolve and drink.
